Seminar on Self Defence Management

To make the girl students be prepared to face the unforeseen situations, use preventive measures to arm and strengthen girls and self-protection, the KGCE NSS Unit has organized an orientation program on self-defence on 16th October  2018.

Mr. Surendra D. Kamble, Official International 3rd Dan Black belt holder in Taekwondo and National Coach & National Referee, Treasurer – Thane District Taekwondo Association  has given a motivational address and shared his expertise during this program. Mr. Surendra Kamble along  with his team have demonstrated skills of self-defence and the techniques of Taekwondo which stimulated girl students to learn the special martial art.

Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti

Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering celebrated the Birth Anniversaries of both Mahatama Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on 04/10/2018. All teachers, students  & staff attended the event. Vice Principal (Academic) Dr. V. J. Pillewan honoured the Chief Guest Mr. Santosh Nildhe(Ex-Servicemen) with shawl and flower bouquet.

Mr. Santosh Nildhe shared his experience of Indian army with students. The students sang patriotic songs and delivered speeches carrying the message of peace and created patriotic atmosphere.

During the programme students shared the anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life which were inspirable to all who present in the hall and encouraged to think about the simple livings of Gandhiji.  Lal Bahadur Shastri’s contribution towards making India a free and progressive nation are recalled and acknowledged. Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri are the two leaders who built a strong foundation of today’s India.

Fresher Party

Fresher party means the welcome party for newcomers in engineering  college by their immediate seniors means second year students. This party is also known as interaction day between juniors and seniors to get familiarized. The party was organized on 01st October 2018.

The senior batch students welcome to their juniors, all guest and teachers. The party  starts with lighting of the lamp and garlanding the sculpture of Goddess Saraswati.

Principal  Dr. M.J. Lengare, Vice Principal Dr. V. J. Pillewan and Head of Science Humanities department Prof. Deepali Keskar  delivered welcome speech, greeted students on the interaction day and congratulated the students for organizing the wonderful preparation.

The most Interesting part of the fresher party is that seniors decided a particular dress code for junior and all first year students came to dressed up same,

At the end of a very enjoyable competition, Ms. Fresher and Miss Fresher were crowned. The party then rocked with dancing and grooving with the newer and seniors. Finally the program ended on a musical note, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever. when all stage activity over then all junior and senior go for delightful refreshment.

Seminar on Engineering Mind

Seminar on “Engineering Mind” was organized on 26-09-2018 by Mechanical department mesa Students. Prof. Dinesh Kumar Gupta guided the students on Engineering thoughts. Students of mechanical department enthusiastically participated the seminar. Prof. K. A. Chaudhari , HOD of Mechanical Department appreciated the programme and promised students to conduct such type of programmes for students in future also.

Plastic Banned Campaign

Alarmed by increasing environment threat posed by plastic, NSS Students of KGCE Launched an plastic banned  Campaign on 10th September 2018. On the occasion NSS students distributed cloth bags  for public awareness.The youngsters, committed the spreading the environment message, wanted to eradicate plastic bags from the city’s shopping culture.

Teacher’s Day 2018

Mechanical  Engineering department celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5h September, 2018 to express gratitude and appreciation to the teachers at Seminar Hall.  Teacher’s Day is celebrated on 5th September in tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great academic philosopher, well-known diplomat, scholar, the president of India and above all a teacher. His footsteps, the teachers follow, are being proved on Teacher’s Day. Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings.

In the felicitation programme, all the faculty were  felicitated by the students. Prof. K.A. Chaudhari (HOD- Mechanical Dept.), Prof. G. S, Darvankar (HOD – Production Dept.), Prof. Amit M. Dagade guided   the students on this occasion. On behalf of all mechanical department students; special gifts were presented to all the teachers. The performance of students on stage exclusively for teachers were a memorable one.

Independence Day Celebration

The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with joy in our campus. Dr. M. J. Lengare , Principal hoisted National Flag. Our Trustee Members, Heads of all departments, staff members and students graced the occasion.

Medical Camp for Staff Members

A free Medical health check up for staff was organized on 11th August 2018 at KGCE. Camp was organized in association  Uni-Care Health  Centre . Free Physical examination along with free Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure and ECG tests were provided by Centre. Uni Care Health Centre also given some discount on remaining  other diagnosis tests in their Hospital.

Approximately 92 staff members came for the Health Check up. Doctors advised them various medicines and consulting during the camp.
